This intimate Colorado wedding at Tihsreed Lodge was one for the record books! Weddings can mean an array of things to different people. For some, it can mean a large gathering of every single family member, friend, or acquaintance you have, and for others, it means saying your vows after a long celebratory, close knit wedding weekend in one of the most adventurous locations in the United States (and a personal favorite of mine!): Colorado.
Such was the case for Emilee and Tyler, who wished to spend the start of their forever with an intimate weekend and ceremony with their closest friends and family overlooking Pikes Peak at Tihsreed Lodge.
You guys….it was beautiful. Not only did I photograph their wedding, but I witnessed two souls who complemented each other in every way, pledge their love for each other in front of the ones they loved most in the world. I can very confidently say that no one will forget that beautiful fall day in early September any time soon!
The Ceremony
As the barn doors opened and Emilee walked down the aisle to Tyler after a morning of anticipation, I could sense so many emotions around me. Absolute joy that these two were finally tying the knot, happiness as well as sorrow when they said their eloquently written vows to each other, and immense sadness that Tyler’s mom, Jana, wasn’t there to witness it right beside them after having passed away just 10 days before the wedding.
When planning your future wedding, it’s normal to not comprehend what a mix of emotions it will be, especially when life throws you one of the hardest curve balls right before an already huge life changing moment. For some odd reason, life’s hardest moments seem to hit you square between the eyes when you are least expecting it, but seeing how Emilee and Tyler leaned on each other in such a heartbreaking time, I could see the strength they drew from each other and just how much they needed that comfort and peace.
To the Couple
Emilee and Tyler, words can not express how amazing you both truly are and just how happy I am that Emilee finally responded to Tyler’s email, even if it was a couple years later 😉 Your kindness, compassion, sense of humor, and devotion to each other on your wedding day was so apparent it left me and the rest of your guests completely speechless. I am so sorry for the loss that you have both endured, but seeing how much you both relied on each other, I know you can handle anything life throws your way. May married life treat you well, and as a kindred adventurous spirit, I can say for certain that you have just started your most important and greatest adventure yet!
Congratulations, you two! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you, and I absolutely loved how you chose an intimate Colorado wedding at Tihsreed Lodge to start your forever!
