Excitement. Nerves. Stomach jitters. Anxiousness. All of these emotions and more are what most brides go through the morning of their wedding. Jacob and Kelsey’s rustic West Point wedding in mid-September was one large celebration of two soulmates joining together to start their biggest adventure yet.
The Wedding Day
The day was a blur.
After all the anticipation, preparation and celebration, it’s always hard to comprehend how fast your wedding day truly goes until you experience it firsthand. As Jacob, Kelsey and I walked from the reception across the street to this cute little park area to take photos, I could tell magic was about to take place as soon as we arrived at our destination.
You see, this was the first time all day that they were truly alone, and the Nebraska late summer sunset was showing off with a glow like no other to celebrate the special union of such loving and kindhearted souls.
As soon as I thought this, I saw Kelsey melt into Jacob in silence.
He held her close, rubbing her back, and they shared a moment I think they will always remember. Large weddings can be a lot when you have a pair of eyes on you at all times, but when their foreheads touched and the realization that they were now married and spending the rest of their lives together forever hit them, I think they both took the biggest full breath I had seen from them all day.
And the best part? As they held each other with their eyes closed, both of their mouths twisted into an unprompted content smile, while feeling the strength of their significant other in their arms in complete and utter silence.
Awwww *Bliss*!
To the Bride and Groom
Kelsey and Jacob, words can not express how happy I am that the two of you found each other! I have always marveled at God’s timing, and yet again, He has proven His ways go beyond our scope of comprehension. The way you both treat each other is what love, companionship and support are all about!
Life will put you through many tests, but the foundation you have both built will carry you through any tribulation you may encounter. Congratulations again on your rustic West Point wedding! I for one will never forget it!
Love you both!
